Pete Field, Deschutes River Guides:

Pete Field grew up in Corvallis, Oregon, an ideal place to develop a passion for steelhead angling. With both winter and summer steelhead rivers nearby, he quickly became deeply immersed in the sport. He attended Oregon State University, though much of his time there was spent pursuing steelhead on the water.

In 1988, Pete was invited on a jet boat trip on the Deschutes River, where he landed his first steelhead on the fly. The fish was hooked while swinging a wet fly on a dry line in a run that remains one of his favorites to this day. Building on years of experience and passion, Pete founded Deschutes River Guides in 1998.
